Despite everything we know about human beings, many approaches to learning event design systematically omit context and continuity, treating us as moments-in-time information-processing machines. In other words, they don’t address the situational context learners are coming from and going to, which results in an enormous burden on the learner to make connections & apply learning to their actual work.

Live synchronous learning events take place in physical and digital environments that are different from the performance environment (which eliminates much of the cognitive scaffolding for learning). They take place in a social context that’s different from the learner’s work context (putting an enormous responsibility on the individual to “be the change”). And they are typically isolated events (forgetting that humans need repetition).

It’s time to break it out of its lonely existence and build it into an integrated, work-oriented, learning journey!

Join us on Wednesday, April 19th for a one-of-a-kind virtual learning experience, led by Simon Fowler Co-founder of ReStroma Consulting, in which he will discuss:

  • The challenge of the ‘lonely event’
  • Learners as a context-embedded persons
  • Learning in time over time
  • Leveraging technology for context and continuity

If you’re a corporate L&D professional, you don’t want to miss this event! Can't attend live? No problem! Register to receive the link to the Engageli Playback Room - where you can relive the experience on your own or with colleagues.
